The Rotary Club of Haddenham & District is just one small part of a world wide association of Service Clubs known as Rotary International. Our members are drawn from the business and professional life of the community and through our weekly meeting, we enjoy fellowship but also find inspiration to serve communities, from a local to international level.
A Rotary Club is best known for the events it stages to raise funds in aid of charities.  But this is not a Club's primary function. Less well known are activities involving the infirm, the aged, youth and others in need. Much of the work undertaken by members is of an educational or vocational nature. Mock interviews for school leavers, involvement in Thames Valley Youth Enterprise, organizing competitions for essays, public speaking or inventions are just some of the other activities receiving less publicity. On the international scene, are you aware that it is Rotary International which is providing the primary funding and the majority of the work to eradicate polio from the planet?  Most people don’t.
For a detailed account of "What is Rotary" look at the Rotary International web site. Rotary in Britain and Ireland, (RIBI), also gives much useful information.  If you know nothing about our organisation these pages will provide at least some information about what we do in the immediate locality and, indeed, what we are on the international scene.  Part of "a world fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service."
